Creative Cloud doesn't offer updates?

just purchased creative cloud.  installed handful of apps on windows 8 pc.  cc desktop app claims of (newly installed) products date, running photoshop , selecting help/updates brings adobe application manager, offers whole slew updates.  what's about?  doesn't cc desktop app offer updates me?  thought desktop app supposed my new , improved, one-stop-shop app installation , updates.

sealbeachsoftware have tried quitting , reopening creative cloud application?  should force check installed applications , available updates.
