Photoshop Elements 7.0 migration to Lightroom 5

i use ps elements 7.0 on pc running windows xp. catalog has 32,000 images in tagged , organized. not want lose organizational structure took long time establish when move new platform.

 

i planning on migrating new imac running os x mountain lion lightroom 5 , looking best way accomplish this. have read lightroom support photo , data import pse 6 through 10 in windows, pse 9 through 10 in mac os. best way proceed upgrade? can see 3 options:

 

1. install lightroom 5 on old pc , perform data import pse 7 lr 5 there, install lr5 on mac , migrate lr data mac.

2. upgrade pse 7 pse 10 on pc, transfer pse 10 , data mac, , install lr5 on mac , migrate data.

3. transfer pse 7 , data pc mac, install lr5 on mac , try data migration (don't one!)

 

any input on best/easiest approach? thanks!

lightroom 5 not install on windows xp.

i have not heard mac version of lightroom can import pse9 , pse10 catalogs; , highly skeptical. in fact, believe statement incorrect. can provide link heard this?

 

if you, i'd separate "move mac", issue of upgrading pse7 catalog lr catalog. asking problems if combine these two. once things in lightroom , working properly, can move mac.

 

so, do, install lr3 (a trial version) on windows xp computer, , upgrade pse7 catalog lr3 catalog. in lightroom, should able move mac, relink if necessary, upgrade lr5.
