Application Error dialogue box

all of sudden, when try open pdf reader following error message appears in dialogue box titled 'application error' -  'exception emmfileerror in module tbhookin.dll @ 0001fd0b. error creating memory mapped file 5.'  tried uninstalling & reinstalling reader, no avail. confirmed correct file association.  running windows 7 home premium. adobe reader xi.

did run adobe cleaner to remove app , registry entries?
