Thread: Onboard sound not recognizing.
i have re-installed ubuntu 12.04 lts, working until yesterday. have had os installed 1 month , of sudden sound stops working.
here specs:
intel 3.2 ghz processor (dual-core)
2 gigs of ram
500gig harddrive sata
320gig harddrive ide
realtek alc660 onboard sound
onboard lan (forgot name , model).
lame cd-burner (internal / optical drive)
floppy drive (yay).
creative sound blaster x-fi 128-bit pci card (ur audio excellator awesome techies out there)
no monitor, using 26" lcd hdtv white westinghouse (yeah yeah know), converted vga-to-hdtv output...looks amazing, sucks windows, fontwise is
.
anyway here did far:
- reinstalled alsa drivers realtek drivers, nothing.
- tried psyically using various wire combinations see if can recieve form of sound hdtv pc, nothing.
- tried going system settings / sound settings, see if configuration settings, nothing.
- 1 threw me off, went alsamixer, onboard sound did not show up, pci sound card did , don't ot either.
@ stump, head hurts , have grown beard of frustration....help lol.
have tried in xp, works great , have not had problems. however, display quality royally sucks in xp why using linux.
suggestions?
