'undo' function not recognizing hex entries for color changes

hi. i've been noticing odd behavior in illustrator cs6 hampering usefulness. basically, undo function doesn't recognize color changes made objects via manual entry of hex code.

 

here steps produce this:

  1. select object.
  2. select hex box in of color pickers (e.g., control panel, appearance panel, color panel).
  3. manually enter hex code color.

 

after hitting 'enter', color change requested. however, change won't reflected in undo list. instead, selecting 'undo' take me couple of steps or more, whatever last non-hex-color-change action made.

 

i figured out hex entry box in color picker culprit after reading  similar bug involving text entry in zoom box. haven't found color picker, though.

 

is bug? there fix it, or perhaps sort of workaround?
