What is the best way to move lightroom work (folders) from my laptop to my tower?

what best way move lightroom work (folders) laptop tower lightroom work , master archive resides. have external drive use intermediary having trouble moving folder , tower.

i think real question is: how synchronize lr catalogs between 2 computers?

because assuming not want move image folders see work done on laptop these images displayed on tower.

 

since - know - lr saves in database (= catalog) have 2 catalogs: 1 on laptop , 1 on tower.

if move image folder without catalog laptop tower, edits (stored in catalog of laptop) not displayed on tower.

 

so have synchronize 2 catalogs.

there way bypass catalog-syncing problem. on laptop "save metadata file" - via >metadata  >save metadata file. write metadata (your edits) file header (for jpgs, tiffs, psds) or  xmp (sidecar-) file (in case of raw images).

after has been done can copy or move images laptop tower, , edits visible.

but 1 caveat procedure:not done in lr can saved file. instance virtual copies, stacking, collections cannot saved file. - instance - loose virtual copies created on laptop if choose save metadata file , transfer images.

 

on other hand, if you'd sync catalogs, did on laptop displayed on tower.

 

finally: have trouble moving folder external drive. first, suggest don't "move" "copy".

second, make sure external not set "read only", , account using (windows) has "full permission" external drive, resp. "read , write" allowed (mac).

hello,   a fellow employee requires adobe acrobat pro installed use, , management me have sorted out. employee uses thin client connect terminal server of administration work.   i require single license adobe acrobat pro used single user.   will there license issues installing adobe acrobat pro on terminal server?   can install adobe acrobat pro on terminal server?   thanks, david hi david,   yes, can install acrobat terminal servers... !   the licensing terminal server considered normal licensing process, means need buy many number of licenses acrobat number of users accessing terminal server (like citrix) access software. eg if 10 users accessing citrix server @ particular time use acrobat software need 10 licenses same. when i try using AE CC 3d camera tracker after the first step it says "Analysis solve failed." help?

im attempting editor , trying edit segment video game (bo2) , im trying have text stick wall in video. every time try using camera tracker spends 5 minutes completing first step , guess succeeds because goes second step says "solving camera" or that, red bar appears saying "analysis solve failed." do? if you're trying use 3d camera tracker on movie froma vieo game not shot real camera, camera tracker unable solve "real" camera matched scene.
