Dangerous deletion events Photoshop CC - MachinePrefs.psp

hi,

 

i trying out photoshop cc , discovered has dangerous tendency of deleting folders (or content) on computers when "machineprefs.psp" file missing appdata\roaming\adobe\adobe photoshop cc\adobe photoshop cc settings folder.

 

the machineprefs.psp file scratch disc drive designated. if, reason, file missing, or no scratch disc expressely designated in machineprefs.psp file, delete contents of 'first' (alphabetically) folder both relative location photoshop installed in, , first folder on c:\ drive. doesn't happen folders protected system, won't happen first folder in program files or such location (well, on windows 8, is). if have custom folder on c:\ , run photoshop without machineprefs.psp file (or file no scratch disc designated), delete folder on c:\. example, created c:\appie. when ran photoshop custom location outside system folders, , exited photoshop, c:\appie got deleted!

 

normally, when install photoshop cc create machineprefs.psp file , in .psp file designate c:\ scratch disc. when machineprefs.psp gets deleted somehow, , run photoshop, re-creates machineprefs.psp. but, when does, though under preferences "default(c)", selection box not selected, , inside psp file not list c:\ scratch disc location (can checked notepad). if run photoshop (i've been running non-default install location -- not in program files), delete (alphabetically) first neighbor-folder or contents. clarify, might have folder called "my apps" on c:\ , has app folders in it:

 

c:\my apps\7-zip

c:\my apps\adobe photoshop\photoshop.exe

c:\my apps\defraggler

(etc.)

 

now, when run photoshop.exe without machineprefs.psp (or without scratch disc designated in automatically re-created .psp file) , close photoshop, deletes contents of c:\my apps\7-zip folder! (or other folder happens alphabetically first in 'my apps' folder.)

 

ok, if, @ same time, have alphabetically first folder on root of c:\ (so 1 directory up) -- example had security monitoring app installed c:\dvr -- delete entire folder upon exiting photoshop! doing consistently deleting first folder relative photoshop.exe location, first folder on root of drive on. no way should absent or improperly configured .psp file make photoshop delete folder of file @ all!

 

so major bug , very, dangerous one. have confirmed case on both windows 7 , windows 8, both , without uac enabled, etc. when performed system snapshots able tell photoshop creates temp file, which, upon exiting photoshop gets deleted. seems that, along deletion of temp file, 'first folders' on c:\ , root folder in photoshop app folder sits, wiped too.

 

please bug. have tested cs6 , earlier make sure not contingent on machineprefs.psp file only, , not deleting earlier version of photoshop. photoshop cc/cs7 doing , doing consistenly on several test machines.

just clear:

- photoshop should under no condition seek delete files or folders not expressely designated own temp files.

- absence of simple .psp file should never endanger host system.

- presence of erroneous .psp file should never endanger host system.

- custom install locations should safe.

 

i thought i'd clarify in case familiar "did try re-install photoshop?" response. understand reinstalling program can or might alleviate particular problem, trying underlaying -- , more dangerous -- problem of photoshop deciding it's ok delete files , folders have nothing it. have tried cs5, 5.1, , 6 on test systems , played .psp files , performance , scratch disk settings , none of these previous ps versions badly behaved, cs7 is.

when i try using AE CC 3d camera tracker after the first step it says "Analysis solve failed." help?

im attempting editor , trying edit segment video game (bo2) , im trying have text stick wall in video. every time try using camera tracker spends 5 minutes completing first step , guess succeeds because goes second step says "solving camera" or that, red bar appears saying "analysis solve failed." do? if you're trying use 3d camera tracker on movie froma vieo game not shot real camera, camera tracker unable solve "real" camera matched scene.
