Help!

i trying learn layers , layer masks.  loaded image, control j duplicate it.  added layer mask.  far.  went filters chose blur.  went brushes black foreground color, wanted brush away blur, , got error message.

"could not use history brush because history state not have corresponding layer."

not sure how fix.

make sure you're using regular bush (shortcut b) rather history brush (shortcut y).  need paint white or black on layer mask.  not need change history.
