Thread: Cannot boot into installation screen.

have been trying in past month. used install ubuntu onto notebook , netbook, nothing happened before.

tried everything, xubuntu, ubuntu 32bit, ubuntu 64bit, fedora 16 , opensuse 12.1. problem should video card driver. have tried nomodeset, acpi=off, noapic, xforce vesa none of them working.

here hardware config:
cpu: i7 2600k
motherboard: asus p8z77-pro,
video card: zotac, nvidia 560ti 1g

hope can give me tips other above solutions. lot.

are trying go directly install, or booting live system first? sometime in distant past had better luck doing "try ubuntu" first, , installing there. did not happened (blank screen? did wait long enough?). can take awhile boot cd or live/install iso on usb.

did use nomodeset when booting 64-bit 12.04 live/install iso usb stick, found did not have use nomodeset on installed system (which installed on usb hard drive try out). live/install used nouveau drivers, , installed system automatically had nvidia drivers active. desktop in sig nvidia gtx 550 ti.

strangely did not have use nomodset 10.10, had use nomodset 11.10, , not have use nomodset 12.04.

64-bit 12.04 iso on usb boot without parameters on acer tablet pc, 1 ghz 2 core amd ati graphics (radeon hd 6250).
