Thread: Robocode on 12.04 Java problem

hi!

have problem running robocode on 12.04
won't open , when try "robocode" on terminal gives error:

e: cannot find jre, exiting..

java -version outputs:

java version "1.7.0_04"
java(tm) se runtime environment (build 1.7.0_04-b20)
java hotspot(tm) 64-bit server vm (build 23.0-b21, mixed mode)

i've tried install java many different tutorials , nothing seems work. im running out of ideas. help?

have looked @ this?

ubuntu/debian users run couple of snags while installing robocode. best place install @ ~/ directory (which /home/account_name/ in short hand).
if have working java compiler already, should set. if not, need package repositories javac program in it, or let robocode install jikes. if changed jdk (like sun-java5-jdk sun-java6-jdk or openjdk-6-jdk), need run sudo update-alternatives --auto javac in shell new javac link correctly.
