Thread: [OT] Port forwarding - Firewall - 443 not working

hello,
put [ot] in subject because question has apple snow leopard server, posting here because know unlikely i'll knowledgeable answer @ apple discussions.

running server-side language web server, , trying connect payment gateway 1 of sites running on server. trying connect via tcp (telnet-like) connection on port 443. reason, snow leopard server blocking connection.

came idea because can run same code on local laptop web server , response gateway fine.

far, i've narrowed down 2 ideas can think of.

1.) firewall on snow leopard server blocking 443??

2.) router issue, doing port forwarding port 443 , pointing incoming port 443 traffic same snow leopard server.

however, don't see how #2 if same code works on machine in same network snow leopard server.

so, i've checked firewall settings , there rule in there "allow tcp any dst-port 443".

should open right?

however, when do:
'traceroute -p 443 <somesecuredomain>

server, hangs 1 hop displayed.

when same on local dev machine, full traceroute.

not sure how fix this.

thx.

donovan

well, ruled out firewall turning off. still having issue connecting.
