Thread: Can't open executables files (Not EXE) ..

hi there,


did fresh install of 12.04 lts; easiest install ever, fantastic, seriously. 10 minutes, i've got 50 programs! :o

experienced unusual problem: can't seems open executables files. not windows programs (with wine, of course), know when go proprieties of file , check "allow executing file program" ?

testing purposes, here file won't work @ all; kega fusion linux:

if extract archive anywhere , run "fusion" (no extension, diamond icon), nothing. normally, have told me if want launch file, or show in gedit (like did in older install of gedit)..

have no idea of what's going on!
, that's not problem fusion alone, happen on every executables files: older version of blender, celtx, etc. of worked on older install on 12.04 lts.

not executable, compress directory (very rar or 7z file). right click on , select 'extract here'. create new directory files contents.

hi, relatively new linux (have used many live disks) , have had install of ubuntu 12.04 few days now. part have found easy use , have been comfortable it. have first question can't resolve myself: adding googles repository list. when first ran command supplied google found did not have wget installed. used apt-get install it. worked fine (as far can tell) re-ran googles code : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add -deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free , message 'gpg: conflicting commands' tell me going wrong , how fix please new script : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add linux_signing_key.pub need edit /etc/apt/sources.list , add line @ end deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free end hope find usefull edit: need root or use sudo make changes /etc/apt/sour...
