Thread: Stop recovery mode starting read-only

when boot recovery mode, starts in read-only mode. means /home folder not mounted (it on separate partition), , check-disks option appears hang.

know can "fix" follows, surely shouldn't in first place?
code:
mount -o remount,rw / mount /dev/sda5 /home
how can fix this?

edit: i'm using 12.04 updated.

hi! paddy,

in 11.10 recovery menu there option mount things in read/write mode, in 12.04 has been dropped.

selecting safe mode low-res graphics, says change read/write , asks confirmation.

worse, drop root terminal option demands "root password" , not accept normal user log-in password though admin authorized.

option - if knew expects root password - perhaps give same read/write permission change?

chao!, bogan.
