ID CC memory use and sluggishness

is there way increase amount of memory id cc allocates itself? have @ least 7-9 gb free in memory according activty monitor, , id sits there using 1-1.5 gb real , 1-1.5 gb virtual. seems not taking advantage of 64-bit nature of cc update. overall performance on 3.4 ghz, 4-core imac 20 gb ram sluggish, redraw , page panel preview [if on]. not matter if other programs running or 20 others. also, never maxes out cores, percentage or core number. not written in way take advantage of contemporary computers?

 

anyone have ideas?

unfortunatelly don’t know answer problem, want add too, find id cc lot more sluggish id cs6. isn’t weird? else have same opinion?
