Installing Acrobat-"qualifying product not found"

after installing acobat xi pro purchased few months ago onto new hard drive, icons appear on desktop.  try open application or open .pdf; message "serial number upgrade-- serial number provide valid, qualifying product not found on computer."  drop down box select product , enter serial number.  drop down box not have acrobat xi pro listed, closest thing acrobat xi standard doesn't work serial number.  on earth going wrong here?

i don't know happened, if stopped working. seems have gone normal thing happens during install.

 

this happens when copy of acrobat buy upgrade. version of acrobat did have when purchased upgrade? doesn't have installed need serial number.
