Thread: Hobby Transition...
so... i'm thinking i'm not 1 who's experienced this... i'm going assume time being.
well... i've been gamer last 6 years more or less , tend play pc games, because i've never found social side of consoles appealing (i when it's couch co-op/play... internet group on consoles scares me). that... , computer, , have.
lately, though, i've been wondering if should pretend adult more , move more productive hobby (i'm 24 years old these days). know many of more active posters on forum aren't gamers (anymore?) , tend developers , whatnot... curious pushed towards programming or whatnot instead of screwing around.
have degree (in math... not computer science)... , in graduate school (for more math, reason)... enjoy doing computer-y things, including developing (which did year last year professionally), , learning. kinds of things should go into? what's gateway drug world of more tech-y nerd-isms rather game-y geek-isms?
ideas?
thoughts or advice may put down! (and no, not topic prompted wife, though i'm sure she'd see me move more productive well.)
i game, on consoles, xbox 360 anyway. long can find decent group of people have on friends list, social aspect isn't scary. still don't jump random competitive games, having butt kicked 12 year old knows every inch of every map isn't fun.
there's plenty of co-op games on xbox 360 open members of public. it's way meet new people add friends list, , know they're same sort of games
you're way young give gaming - means, try out hobby, bit more serious programming (or 'doing code' understand programmers prefer call it), don't give gaming entirely. it's great escape modern high-pressure society live in these days![]()
