Thread: Persistent external display resolution in 12.04 - how?
i have (today) installed 12.04 on acer aspire 5732z laptop. after battling torch screen brightness work (still not sorted - brightness key operation reversed) decided connect acer x201 monitor working. going fine far, have set custom resolution of 1400x1050 using xrandr monitor.
problem can't figure out how store new resolution since there no xorg.conf file edit (in /etc/x11 folder) resolution settings persist on reboot.
think 12.04 uses light display manager not gdm lots of guides online not relevant.
ideally store separate configurations monitor , monitor @ work different use laptop in both locations.
can me? i'm no linux expert can manage things long it's step step!
