Problem with importing and storing to library

i seam miss logic in importing , storing photos in library. causes situation each time need photo need go c: , import it. library practically empty , not see how images can stored there. anyhow has created situations open import window , can see pictures cannot acces them in  way? messages telling me there dublicate somewhere, where, remains mystery. fixed logic in windows handle , store files , maybe confusing me? there tutorial "how import , store images in lightroom"? enlighten me logic of this.

thanks

lightroom database; not file browser. file browser "looks into" folders, sees photos there, , allows work them. lightroom not this. knows photos have been imported lightroom. once photo imported lightroom, lightroom knows photo's location , it's metadata, , can perform tasks (like editing on photo). @ no time lightroom contain photo. @ no time lightroom store photo. since not file browser, if move or rename or delete photo outside of lightroom, lightroom no longer knows photo (it not file browser) , photo reported missing (it has question mark icon) , can no longer perform tasks on photo.

therefore, once import photo lightroom, should management of photo within lightroom. means not move or rename or delete photo in operating system or other program. need browse/search photo within lightroom, not operating system. actions performed on photo should done in lightroom.

why? database allows organize in ways not possible (or possible difficult) in operating system. primary organizing tool lightroom provides (in opinion) keywords. keywords, , other metadata (captions, titles, collections, etc.) give ability organize in ways folder organizing cannot achieve.

furthermore, lightroom allows simplify workflow (if want). workflow simple. in workflow, there no need move photos here there achieve organization. photo comes out of camera, , placed in default folder (by capture date), , never ever moves out of folder again. instead, use keywords , other metadata allow me find photos quickly, , side benefit not need know folder photos located in. 22000 photos, cannot remember folders stored in -- task impossible me do. however, can find photo quickly; example, if photo's content skyscraper, tell lightroom find photos have keyword "skyscraper", , lightroom find instantly, , didn't have know folder file in. it's hard me imagine simpler workflow.

side note: can continue use folders organizing method, don't have use keywords, have "play lightroom's rules" , use lightroom methods move photos here there, , have use lightroom methods rename photos; etc. , of course, if organization done via files , folders, don't benefits of keywords , other metadata.

so, advise following workflow:

import photos lightroom once , once only. after that, management of photos have been imported should done in lightroom. photos should assigned keywords appropriate, , optinally captions, titles , other metadata. searching , browsing of photos have been imported should done in lightroom, preferably using keywords , other metadata.
