i have switch class handouts prepared framemaker 7.1 paper distribution pdf can used in laboratory classes on computer network. want include links open in new windows display figures or diagrams. think can in pdf, since document gets periodically revised want create links in framemaker, don’t have redo links each time release new version. after lot of searching , experimenting seems can if links fm documents; convert when create pdf. use special->hypertext->open document new, , enter path linked file.

 

is correct? have problem , question. first, when error message saying: ‘d:‡issection manual\current\version\gluteus maximus surface labeled.fm’ not found. make sure file exists , framemaker document.’ file exist, , in same folder main document. there no double dagger symbol in actual path, however. should read “d:\dissection...”

 

am doing wrong?

 

secondly, when convert pdf have convert each figure pdf?

actually, in strange way, instructed fm use double dagger...

 

your marker got parsed when converting pdf d : \d s s (etc)

 

i didn't check, i'm willing bet \d represents double dagger.

 

change marker d:\\dissection \\ parsed \ character , should fine.

 

btw, same thing happen if use \ character in variable, , when defining paths in variables, you'll use same \\ convention \ character.
