Advanced Actions behaving differently in Flash vs HTML5

captivate cs6

we want publish html5 here. make long story short, stock simple action 'open url or file' not satisfactory, sought clone it. noticed simple one-line standard action (open url in new window) behaving differently in html5 preview , flash preview: html5 player set presentation pause when object clicked, whereas flash player not touch play/pause state (i.e. playing presentation keeps playing while paused presentation remains paused). ostensibly i'm having weird problem conditionals not working in html5 either; following conditional action works identical first action in flash nothing @ in html5:

if cpcmndpause = 1:

  open url in new window

  assign cpcmndpause = 1

else:

  open url in new window

  assign cpcmndpause = 0

variables seem work fine, 'assign cpcmndpause = 1' pauses presentation in both html5 , flash. however, if create totally new project (instead of importing powerpoint , inserting stuff) conditional in html5 open url , set state paused.

i'm sure i'm misunderstanding here. why html5 behaving differently? how change action html5 behave flash , open link without changing play/pause state? in other words, if project playing should keep playing when object clicked , if project paused should remain paused when object clicked.

(here thread of mine yesterday further describes desired behavior: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5618045#5618045

i posted new thread because understand there entirely different problem.)

sorry, don't understand logic of condition? maybe post  screenshot instead of typing it.      why set variable value has?
