Moving a block of clips, and other questions

how can move block of clips, such highlighting , cutting , pasting 3 clips 1 place place , keeping them together?

 

also - how can open  gap between clips in video (insert gap) give me open space insert clips?

 

when try insert gap, end stretching clips , making them larger, losing some, etc.

 

also - there way move clips typing in minutes/seconds instead of manually dragging?

what version of premiere elements have , on computer operating system running? generalizations now.

 

a.

1. mouse cursor draw rectangle around clips involved select them.

 

2. edit menu/copy

 

3. move timeline indicator clear location

 

4. edit menu/paste

 

b.

adding clips timeline, hold down alt key of computer main keyboard drag new clip place on timeline. release mouse first , alt when done. watch changes in tip of mouse cursor.

 

c, drag clips timeline.

i have been searching time way edit metadata of video file created along de-novo file. specifically, vlc example, displays metadata text when begins playing file. trying access to. seems me, if there way create metadata in first place, there *must* way edit it. how? using either 11.04 or 12.04 kubuntu. nautilus it's nice icon displays of photos , vids. typically use gwenview , gimp photos , vlc , avidemux video. these tools work things, occasionally, there video has wrong or verbose metadata , far have found no way edit stuff. vlc has option purports work in cases, not reliable, looking swiss-army-knife solution can handle multiple formats (avi/wmv/mpg/mp4/etc/etc) in manner exfalso audio files. "ffmpg" command-line tool not work way, may part of app does. there video geek out there in ubu-land has known solution? folks use create these files in first place? thanks, ct use c...
