Thread: Apache - map a port to a specific directory


i have server set (running 12.04 server) runs sugarcrm ce, internal use @ work. want enable data external website (outside lan) added sugarcrm database.

thinking of doing opening port on our internet router allow access external webserver internal server. don't particularly want server visible , sundry, consequently want know if possible redirect traffic on open port 1 specific folder within sugarcrm installation.

i.e. www.example.com:100 goes /var/www/sugar/folderx

opening port easy enough despite search on internet haven't managed find clear method implement in apache. information have found contradictory suggestions involving virtual hosts , reverse proxys , both stating other option won't work.

can point me in right direction please.

my first thought using virtual hosts, don't know if accomplish want.

how data want added external source going imported sugarcrm?
