Thread: How To Do Minimal Install, Then Add KDE?

can suggest way rather minimal 12.04 install intent of later installing kde?

installed kde-full package yesterday , it. avoid mixing , matching of everything, have been trying repeatedly install kubuntu. however, kubuntu install cd's crash before displaying grub menu. (so straight ubuntu cd's,for matter.) installation starts usb drive installer either crashes during manual partitioning or when process indicator displays 86% (it stalls ubiquity hits 100% of cpu). , each failed usb install renders usb drive unbootable, forcing me recreate each time. far, i've made 7 attempts.

oh, , installer worked enough wipe ubuntu install.

can ubuntu 12.04 installed if install 11.10 first , dist-upgrade. (a kernel bug crashes installs video card. doesn't far enough add kernel options.)

don't want go lengths again, if can install minimal ubuntu before add kde.
