Thread: Live USB hangs on "[TTM] Initializing pool allocator."

hello --

first let me apologize in advance if has been posted before, several searches didn't yield satisfactory results. also, doesn't technically have "installing" ubuntu, thought close enough.

today i've been trying set usb flash drive (sandisk 16gb) live usb ubuntu 12.04. have run u3 remover tool provided sandisk suggested in many places i've found while trying solve issue, i've formatted flash drive several different times in process of preparing live usb, both ntfs , fat32, , i've tried number of different things. problem persists.

problem when boot usb (my pc recognizes flash drive hard drive, instead of changing boot priority usb, change hard disk boot priority sandisk) , select "run ubuntu using usb device" (or whatever says exactly), operating system starts booting up, hangs on line saying "[ttm] initializing pool allocator."
i've left computer on stuck on screen hour or now, , fifth or sixth time i've tried boot , it's come this, don't think waiting going work.

prepared usb using pendrivelinux software provided on ubuntu website. operating system i'm running (and 1 used prepare usb) windows 7 professional 64bit.
computer hard ware following:
ram: 4gb ddr3
graphics card: nvidia geforce 460 gtx
processor: amd phenom ii x4 quad-core 3.2ghz
power supply: apevia java power 650watt
motherboard: gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h

if makes difference, windows installed on 64gb solid state drive, files used prepare usb on separate 2tb mechanical drive.

if need more information please tell me.

edit: tried re-preparing usb unetbootin, , time encountered different problem. when brought me unetbootin's menu, selected "try ubuntu without installing it," , screen went black, , caps lock , scroll lock lights on keyboard started blinking on , off. nothing else happened.

haha, realized thread more accurately placed in "absolute beginner talk," considering have very, minimal experience ubuntu, , linux in general. if mod wants move on there, won't offended.
