Thread: Mouse Button Config

first things first, let me know how i'm doing wrong, first post on forums. started using ubuntu couple weeks ago, , have lots learn.

essentially, have logitech mouse in perfect working order, , i'd able bind commands buttons on mouse. upgraded ubuntu 12.04 lastnight, upgrade seems fine, except btnx. when running 11.10, installed btnx, , after short while, managed work me. worked out had use terminal commands 'sudo (something forget)' apply stuff chose in btnx. think 'sudo btnx cfg' wrong.

anyhow, on upgrading 12.04, btnx no longer installed, , when opened software centre, didnt let me install, said not being able find btnx. searched internet, , found website http://askubuntu.com/questions/12999...n-ubuntu-12-04
after downloading 'main program' , 'gui', apparently installed btnx. once started up, existing mouse commands etc there (a little confusing wont complain).
sadly, mouse commands not applied/working. on 11.10 way applied settings typing terminal (as stated above). however, terminal not recognize btnx? , when click restart btnx, window pops saying failed execute command: "/etc/init.d/btnx restart". make sure btnx installed correctly.
after copying command terminal, nothing.

post far long , detailed im sure, awesome. i've tried searching solutions on forums/google, either dont apply or work.

i'm totally fine using program other btnx, dont know others. please keep in mind, although want know how use ubuntu, im no computer whiz , i'm not familiar ubuntu , associated jargon,
