Thread: New folder not recognised in Terminal

i've been looking @ instructions how install sierra 320u usb modem on ubuntu 12.04 machine have run problem. per instructions, created folder in "home" called "kernel-3.2.y". extracted files folder. worked well.

when try move folder created, keep getting error message in terminal "no such file or directory". i've repeatedly checked spelling , compared command instructions , appears well. i've checked folders , files exist in directory , do.

doing wrong? why folders not recognised when try move them in terminal?
