Thread: Upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04 on a Multi-Desktop Environment System

greetings,

have 2 computers, desktop 10.04 , laptop 11.10. laptop (11.10) has following desktop environments installed:

1) unity
2) gnome3 classic fallback
3) gnome3
4) lubuntu/lxde
5) kubuntu
6) enlightenment

"pure" ubuntu machine until 11.10 installed other des when playing around see what's available. right i'm using kde actual use , enlightenment sysadmin stuff, though use unity or gnome 3 on occasion.

machine boot splash says it's it's ubuntu, that's because after installed complete kubuntu package changed splash screen ubuntu splash liked splash screen better. use gdm login screen liked best between kdm , lightdm.

so--when push "upgrade" button, system(s) end with? supposed end ubuntu or kubuntu i'm not sure. or updates have (which ideal situation).

know? there way find out? upgrade selection says "welcome ubuntu 12.04" makes me think ubuntu in kde muon center tells me "a new version of kubuntu available".

the developers cannot know every variation every user os. developers design , test upgrade default install of 1 version of ubuntu next version.

shared in testing upgrade path 10.04 , 11.10 12.04 default installs of 10.04 , 11.10 , not of flavours of ubuntu. else testing flavours.

guess whether click ubuntu upgrade or kubuntu upgrade have problems. not expect other desktop environments upgraded either. guess cause problems if try load 1 of environments afterwards.

people have problems upgrading when have heavily modified os. if had pure kubuntu install or pure ubuntu install there less risk of failure.

does know? there way find out?
the answer go ahead , try it, yourself. tester.

hello,   a fellow employee requires adobe acrobat pro installed use, , management me have sorted out. employee uses thin client connect terminal server of administration work.   i require single license adobe acrobat pro used single user.   will there license issues installing adobe acrobat pro on terminal server?   can install adobe acrobat pro on terminal server?   thanks, david hi david,   yes, can install acrobat terminal servers... !   the licensing terminal server considered normal licensing process, means need buy many number of licenses acrobat number of users accessing terminal server (like citrix) access software. eg if 10 users accessing citrix server @ particular time use acrobat software need 10 licenses same. when i try using AE CC 3d camera tracker after the first step it says "Analysis solve failed." help?

im attempting editor , trying edit segment video game (bo2) , im trying have text stick wall in video. every time try using camera tracker spends 5 minutes completing first step , guess succeeds because goes second step says "solving camera" or that, red bar appears saying "analysis solve failed." do? if you're trying use 3d camera tracker on movie froma vieo game not shot real camera, camera tracker unable solve "real" camera matched scene.
