multiple check boxes showing/hiding same fields

hi

i using adobe livecycle designer es2.  have 20 checkboxs need show , hide same fields. can show , hide fields if checkboxes chosen. problem lies when unselect check box hide fields if initial check box not unchecked want information stay there.  how script

instead of having script in click event (or ever event) of each of checkboxes, have script in fields sums 20 checkboxes , if greater 0 (eg @ least 1 checkbox ticked) show field.
