Thread: Suspend doesn't work after kernel upgrade

i'm having trouble suspend after upgrading kernel 3.2.0-23-generic 3.2.0-24-generic. new kernel, suspend works when manually invoke (press power button , select suspend), 75% of time, when invoke suspend closing laptop lid, following happens:
1) light on of laptop screen stays on (turns off when in suspend)
2) fan starts work overtime, indicating high cpu usage
3) if open laptop lid up, screen not turn on
4) way system hard reboot (with button)

using hp dv7t first-gen intel i7 processor, nvidia graphics , nouveau driver. running updated system gnome-fallback mode. suspend works 3.2.0-23-generic kernel, can't imagine else cause.
