Thread: 12.04 not detecting second display

i have 1 monitor on radeon hd 57something, , second via vga onboard this thing. first display detected. vga display worked 11.10 , windows 7, not 12.04.

i had same problem , searched in vain. found problem lies kernel ubuntu repositories, download kernel , install ppa mainline , should fine.
first go here(http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/) , download header files , kernel image system i.e.: i386 or amd64. need these files : linux-headers, linux-headers-***_all.deb , linux-image-.
second create folder called kernel home directory , cut , paste these 3 files there in kernel folder.
third open terminal , navigate there cd ~/kernel paste sudo dpkg -i *.deb
fourth after installation reboot , should first kernel listed
