Thread: Net Talk Duo and Ubuntu


hello all,

i'm using ubuntu 12.04 , plug in net talk duo usb port of ubuntu computer.

know how this? able windows computer downloading drivers from:

http://faq.nettalk.com/index.php?_m=...mid=53&nav=0,2

how 1 under ubuntu?

i managed install nettalk duo on ubuntu 12.04 follows: (i using classic gnome)
1- install wine:
code:
sudo apt-get install wine
2- download duo usb driver (windows 32/64-bit) http://www.nettalk.com/en/downloads
(the version used latest @ time of writing: version 1.34)
3- install downloaded driver: right click on , select "open wine..."
4- create new wired network connection
a- click on network icon on top panel, select edit connection, add
b- in wired tab, set mac address shown on bottom of nettalk (or connect computer usb port , run ifconfig in terminal)
c- in "ip4 settings", set "method" "shared other computers"
d- save
5- "applications" menu on top panel, select "wine"->"programs"->"nettalk"
6- click phone handset icon in small window appear , select "start nettalk service"
7- plug nettalk in usb port
if works well, have green led (congratulation)
