Help with overprinting black

i've been reading overprinting black, , while know should mark black type against lighter backround overprinting under attributes, i'm getting confused other areas may need overprinting.

the project details are: textbook printed in c+k only. i'm creating graphics in illustrator, applying overprinting black areas (black 100k only, 2 plates) sending tiff (project process, can't change @ point), , placing in indesign, produces final pdfs.

here's question - should overprinting black icons text in circles? should worried little white windows in buildings in central circle , white dollar signs in bottom circle? (if can spot other potential prepress issues this, please advise! i'm prepress newbie.)

thanks help!!

without getting actual file inspect hard say, @ first glance agree setting black objects you're talking overprint should safe.

as white objects mentioned: make sure not set overprint.

in general: check files view > overprint preview.
