Thread: Resurrecting my iTunes playlists on Rhythmbox, no dual-boot
i'm new ubuntu user. i've installed 12.04 onto clean desktop (no dual-booting) , trying retrieve itunes playlists off old/dying win xp laptop. itunes crashed on laptop long ago , no longer run w/o being reinstalled.
song files on external hd (named e:\ on old laptop), has crashed ("failure imminent" diagnostics say), tho i've been lucky enough transfer full contents new machine before it's dead.
i've been able salvage itunes library files, in both .itl , .xml formats. i've managed rewrite copy of itunes xml rhythmbox library database, via http://www.njamin.org/blog/tutorials...cluded-121.php
here's question...
can somehow point rhythmbox new location of song files, can recreate playlists had on old system?
original filepaths entire library have been preserved, except all-important e:/. seems right pieces there, won't fall place!
