Thread: Can't boot Ubuntu via USB
i have been trying boot ubuntu, xubuntu, mint lxde, opensuse, fedora, , on, via usb on built machine using universal usb installer (the recent version) has never let me down in past. tell computer boot usb, does, ubuntu/xubuntu/mint lxde/other options come up, choose 1 allows me try them, stuff starts loading newbie me cannot decipher, , blank screen. left desktop running several minutes each time, nothing. strangely enough, when using exact same method puppy linux, works fine. boot fine on hp pavilion dv6000 laptop older 3 years.
specs are:
- intel core i5 2500k
- gigabyte ga-z68ap-d3
- 8gb (2x4gb) corsair vengeance @ 1600mhz
- 1tb seagate barracuda 7200rpm
- gainward geforce gtx 570 golden sample
- antec truepower new modular 650w
- lian-li pc-k63b first knight
- windows 7 home premium 64bit
nice machine!
right after turn on computer, hold down shift key. when configuration screen comes up, press f6 , add combination of these parameters:
acpi=off noapic nolapic nomodeset
