Thread: did i compromise my encrypted drive when I tried to address my hibernate issues?

i had issue hibernating on xubuntu 12.04 (on 10.04, laptop hibernate works fine) has been resolved. see thread here

while troubleshooting problem, found "unknown" partition supposedly encrypted partition not working. took out livecd , reformatted said partion linux swap, updated /etc/fstab, /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume match new uuids , did a
$ sudo update-initramfs -u

last command warned me error:
cryptsetup: warning: failed detect canonical device of /dev/dm-0

@ same time, tried hibernate , works - kinda. hibernate , resume not ask me password, sends me straight last desktop state.

know if compromised encrypted drive doing did, , how address issue resuming session without asking password

maybe helped quicker post outputs requested post#13 onwards here people have quick reference without having go @ original thread. post error got wrt crypt.
