Thread: Laptop Charger G62


i wasn't sure post this, hope posting in section isn't completly wrong.
anyway hp g62's charger dying. faulty connection somewhere on transformer cable, since bring life after moving around bit. checking online one, , found 1 similar specifications mine. it's g62. bought laptop in portugal , living in poland i'm not enterily sure if these countries can have effect on chargers specs.
chargers specs:
output 18.5v 3.5a 65w
input 100 - 240v 1.7a(1,7a) 50-60hz

charger checking out online:
output 18.5v 3.5a 65w
input 100 - 240v 1.6a(1,6a) 50-60hz

can see there 0,1a difference on input. difference relevant?

no, not relevant. important thing output values match. replacement charger more efficient compared old 1 seeing draws less current on input still has identical output. safe go replacement.


before buy charger make sure it's not connector plug cable faulty. seem work lose on time if not handled delicately. fixing requires simple solder job or solder job & new connector.
