Upgraded to Lightroom 5 a month ago problems importing files from cf card, they import on a angle?

i have tested card reader, card (which imports images on angle), , importing images through iphoto - incidently importing images correctly. images fine viewed on of d800. i'm thinking must upgrade i've never experienced before. have big shoot on weekend , i'm feeling quite nervous issue. can else shed light?

ps. it's not every image on angle, it's random. different every import. format cards before shooting time.

i have been searching time way edit metadata of video file created along de-novo file. specifically, vlc example, displays metadata text when begins playing file. trying access to. seems me, if there way create metadata in first place, there *must* way edit it. how? using either 11.04 or 12.04 kubuntu. nautilus it's nice icon displays of photos , vids. typically use gwenview , gimp photos , vlc , avidemux video. these tools work things, occasionally, there video has wrong or verbose metadata , far have found no way edit stuff. vlc has option purports work in cases, not reliable, looking swiss-army-knife solution can handle multiple formats (avi/wmv/mpg/mp4/etc/etc) in manner exfalso audio files.
