Crashed when EXITing

what day! in trying understand problems posted in previous 2 questions, wondering if in fact had shut down software between projects (since save didn't erase existing project timeline), clicked exit - , once again got left-skewed/partially missing 'add media' request box, , once again, software crashed. , final weirdness - started after today's reinstall - every time reload existing project, multilingual message lasts half second before being replaced 'add media' request (during brief display i've caught word 'media'). , top off, if after project had loaded, click upper right hand corner x shut down program, hangs up.

still not sure premiere elements version , computer operating system. assuming premiere elements 11 windows 7 or 8 64 bit until tell otherwise.

please excuse if mentioning aware of not want take granted.

what properties of source media (video , audio compression, frame size, frame rate, aspect ratio, file extension, duration , on)? or project setting project preset?

how getting source media program....add media/files , folders or other. now, assuming add media/files , folders.

where media being stored...on local disk c or external hard drive (formatted ntfs, not fat32)? if external hard drive, stable in drive letter not changing on you?

important. after open new project, import media, edit, etc. , save/close project, cannot move or delete media imported project. if do, in lot of nasty missing media (media offline) messages , troublesome reconnect of media project. project archiver safe saver if moving media around. please check out project archiver (archive , copy options).
