Thread: Printing to Windows print queues
i'm trying integrate ubuntu systems windows environment. i've been successful far having problems printing integration. i'm using samba @ minute , it's been giving me hassle, particularly when sslf gpo enabled in windows (security hardening).
regardless, without sslf, i'm seeing following behaviour:
add printer -> select windows printer via samba -> click 'browse' , sees domain, select computer, authenticate windows view print queues, select print queue. so, print queue selected , need supply authentication information.
have 2 options: authenticate later, i'd need supply credentials each printing job or authenticate , save password typing later. opt latter firstly, type in username , password, click verify , nothing... says isn't valid. i've tried every combination of username , cannot work.
now, if select former (authenticate later), can create document, print it, verify it's unsuccessful in cups administration screen (obviously, it's not authenticated windows) , can right-click job in linux print queue, click authenticate, type in same username/password combination before, , it'll sent , arrive on windows - happy days.
finally, aware protocols ubuntu uses authenticate windows printing? lm, ntlm or ntlmv2? if isn't ntlmv2, know how can choose one? sslf requires this.
information or people can offer.
