Thread: Update Manager “Failed to download repository information” error


whenever try install updates this:





says under details:

w:failed fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmcenery/pp...source/sources 404 not found
, w:failed fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmcenery/pp...amd64/packages 404 not found
, w:failed fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmcenery/pp...-i386/packages 404 not found
, e:some index files failed download. have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

using 11.10 , gnome 3, if it's relevant.

whew- next time please post screenshot attachment. there's button down below text box. fyi.

looks repositories no longer existent. remove entries sources.list- in terminal-

code:
gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
delete lines nonexistent repos , save. if they're not there, run

code:
gksu nautilus /etc/apt/sources.list.d
and there'll (at least one) file in there named similar missing repository. delete it/them.
