Adobe Acrobat Pro XI- 'error during processing (files skipped)'

we've run problems staff attempting combine multiple word files on network share, receiving 'error during processing'. problem not consistent (sometimes works) occurs frequently.

 

this issue occurs on adobe acrobat pro xi updated latest standard (checked updates).

 

environment:

 

  • windows 7 sp1 enterprise. (64-bit)
  • no roaming profiles or folder redirection employed (domain logon)
  • ms office 2010 suite (32-bit)
  • no congestion on enterprise network environment or obvious latencies (browsing network shares , folders snappy)
  • hp i5 pc 4gb of ram
  • file path length acceptable
  • word 2010 has been 'personalised'
  • apart glitch, os , applications run without issues
  • adobe pro able create pdf's without issue.

 

as workaround, have asked client copy files temporary folder on  desktop , combine files. deleting copied files when process complete. not satisfactory workaround though.

 

apart workaround, there else can do?

try temporarily turning off protect view see if may related problem, if things work ok locally. edit > preferences > security (enhanced).
