Preflight panel not displaying / broken

the preflight panel not display. invoking main menu (window > output > preflight), or bottom of document window or via keyboard shortcut - none of them work - preflight panel appears briefest moment , disappears. no other part of interface appears broken or behave same way.

 

system

mac os 10.6.8, indesign cc version 9 , indesign cc version 9.1

 

previous versions:

exact same behaviour in cs6 (8.0.1)

works fine in cs5.5 (v7.5.3)

 

steps taken troubleshoot:

replicated problem in mac os x guest account.

replicated problem after resetting preferences (as described in troubleshooting 101 post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990?start=160&tstart=0 )

tried disabling preflight (via bottom-of-document preflight menu). tried creating new profiles.

 

deleted / reinstalled preflight profiles?

not sure how might this, has occured me might worth pursuing.

 

using non-standard preflight profiles ?

no, using supplied preflight profile.

 

any troubleshooting advice appreciated...

turns out, managed preflight panel display. here's how: changed workspace 1 included preflight panel ("printing , proofing"). simple that.

 

however, problem persists when trying invoke panel bottom-of-window preflight menu, or keyboard shortcut - preflight panel still flash , disappear instantly. must sort of ui bug.

 

nevertheless, have workaround.
