Importing Camera Raw into PSLR4.4

i'm trying import photo's taken on canon eos digital rebel xs, in camera raw format cr2 file extension. no luck - pictures greyed out on import screen. added camera raw program, version 7.4. didn't find our camera in supported camera's list, there plenty of canon eos rebels in there, thought we'd take chance. i'm sure user error - want me going in right direction? thanks!

that camera has been supported since camera raw 4.6/5.1

what version of photoshop , operating system using?

 

lightroom 4.4 should read files canon eos digital rebel xs
