hi all, i'm new linux, , i'm trying install ubuntu onto laptop running win xp. want dual boot, , have drive partitioned c: (67.4gb) , d: (12.6gb). want install ubuntu on d drive, when go installer, lets me choose split c drive. there easy way install ubuntu on d , not change on c?

i'm trying avoid making swap partition , 1 double ram, etc. stuff confuses hell out of me.

do wish replace d or planing intall on d in without formating it?
