Thread: deleting partition in hard disk


hi everyone.
hard disk divided. there xp , ubuntu in hard disk, , asks start.
want delete xp partititon , let ubuntu control whole hdd.ubuntu must default os , no question in start-up.how?

in advance.

the simple way install ubuntu live cd , tell installer program use entire hard disk.

but, , repeat but, remove files , documents. so, backup not want loose.

second way use live cd , go try ubuntu , launch gparted. , use remove windows partitions (there more one) , re-size ubuntu partition take space , fill whole hard disk.

need boot ubuntu , run command

sudo update-grub
to refresh grub menu no longer shows windows xp option.

plan first.
