Thread: Wacom Bamboo Connect Tablet in 12.04

so, i've no idea how go getting wacom bamboo connect tablet work in 12.04. told should work (did not bother in 11.10, still using windows 7) , after putting in cd, error when archieve tries read it, , doesn't work without cd either.

there i'm supposed do/download first? i've been having hard time finding info on it. can't seem find on on forum either. =(

, if makes difference, laptop hp pavilion dm1, running on ubuntu 12.04.

doubt bamboo connect install cd has linux drivers.

wacom usb tablets need 2 wacom drivers. wacom usb kernel driver/module. , wacom x driver. kernel driver sends usb info. x driver draws stuff on monitor.

default wacom x driver comes precise (12.04) works fine connect. there. problem kernel driver called wacom.ko. wacom.ko supports connect accepted 3.3 kernel , precise has 3.2 kernel. precise's kernel old support tablet.

1 of linux wacom project developers (chris) has backported 3.3 kernel support input-wacom. input-wacom how wacom tablets working on older kernels not support them. package give updated wacom.ko work connect.

don't think has made input-wacom ppa precise use yet need compile it. step step instructions on bamboopt how to. follow part i. input-wacom-0.13.0 , should go.

hi, relatively new linux (have used many live disks) , have had install of ubuntu 12.04 few days now. part have found easy use , have been comfortable it. have first question can't resolve myself: adding googles repository list. when first ran command supplied google found did not have wget installed. used apt-get install it. worked fine (as far can tell) re-ran googles code : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add -deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free , message 'gpg: conflicting commands' tell me going wrong , how fix please new script : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add linux_signing_key.pub need edit /etc/apt/sources.list , add line @ end deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free end hope find usefull edit: need root or use sudo make changes /etc/apt/sour...
