Thread: Server Has No Outbound Connections

hi,

hope can vexing me!

have ubuntu server (12.04) runs 24/7 providing mythtv backend, local dns, email , lamp stack. other day no longer access server outside of lan figured router problem.

when home discovered although ping server, connect via ssh , still stream mythtv recordings it, access services ip, not hostname. furthermore, server can't connect internet @ nor can ping single machine on network including server. testing ping whilst connected via ssh on network!

i've tried sorts, including disabling dns server still nothing. i'm beginning wonder if hardware problem happened no software/os changes?

please let me know if there additional detail can provide may allow help!

first of all, title wrong: inbound connections, outbound connections when connect else's server outside network (e.g. when browse site, make outbound connection).

check dns/nameserver pc's using.
use dhcp? cause if do, check if server's ip has changed.
