Best strategy for still image sequence?

i seem have tamed cpu load when editing video files.during pb when timeline hits still image sequence, however, cpu spiking @ around 80 -100%. should create separate sequence each still image, render it, import rendered sequence main project? seems insanely round way of doing things if allows me move forward...

 

i'm hoping there better way, however.

 

i'm making progeress in efforts learn premiere, using, "an editirs guide.." "vtc" , , "creative edge"  forum still great resource in advance.

how large images?

 

if importing image sequence, don't need full size images.

 

if larger 1920x1080, use photoshop action scale them down separate directory pc won't have work hard.
