Blocked at 50%

i have windows 7.  when try download flash player 11, stops @ 50% , tells me close internet explorer.  so, , nothing happens -- keep getting message.  feature says continue installation automatically.  not.  tried disabling active-x nothing changed.  tried uninstalling flash player (which shows version 11 in list) got same message , not proceed.  should do?

see how close internet explorer , other programs running on windows?
