Thread: 12.04 LTS lots of freezing..please help..

hello, downloaded on 26th new lts 12.04. , have found dual monitors setup works perfectly. having issues though.

1) everytime try open libre office, freezes instantly. don't see of bar go across. left 20 minutes first time happened, thought maybe first time setup issue. no, everytime start libre freezes.

tried start gimp now, , froze up. have been having lot of freezing issues since new install. did not upgrade, installed fresh full lts 12.04 64 bit. have run apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, etc, , still have issue. sure little, not familiar enough ubuntu know wrong.

appreciated, started practicum today finish off university.

find locking/ freezing when ever open new program.

have 12 gigs of ram, ram not issue. happens when have nothing running, or pile of things running.

mouse still moves, can't click on anything, , can't close anything.

appears related compiz, because when freeze, enter ctrl-alt-f3, type top , compiz @ top of list, if kill pid compiz, can navigate again, display messed up.

programs cause freezing when opened...

libre office
gimp
vuze
gwenview



programs not having issues:
chromium
chrome
thunderbird
firefox
gedit
geany


programs causing freezing freeze everytime opened.

please help...i not sure how proceed here.

is there interesting @ end of /home/username/.xsession-errors and/or /var/log/syslog after desktop environment locks before kill compiz?

see interesting messages if start gimp or lowriter gnome-terminal?

hello,   a fellow employee requires adobe acrobat pro installed use, , management me have sorted out. employee uses thin client connect terminal server of administration work.   i require single license adobe acrobat pro used single user.   will there license issues installing adobe acrobat pro on terminal server?   can install adobe acrobat pro on terminal server?   thanks, david hi david,   yes, can install acrobat terminal servers... !   the licensing terminal server considered normal licensing process, means need buy many number of licenses acrobat number of users accessing terminal server (like citrix) access software. eg if 10 users accessing citrix server @ particular time use acrobat software need 10 licenses same. when i try using AE CC 3d camera tracker after the first step it says "Analysis solve failed." help?

im attempting editor , trying edit segment video game (bo2) , im trying have text stick wall in video. every time try using camera tracker spends 5 minutes completing first step , guess succeeds because goes second step says "solving camera" or that, red bar appears saying "analysis solve failed." do? if you're trying use 3d camera tracker on movie froma vieo game not shot real camera, camera tracker unable solve "real" camera matched scene.
